Word of God for Today - Where Is Your Faith! & The ABCs of Divine Protection

pic:nhamil75

-Where Is Your Faith!-

In God's word in Mat 9:29 says "Then He touched their eyes, saying, According to your faith let it be you". All through out the New Testament you will see a pattern in the healings of Jesus. That pattern is Jesus helping people with faith in His Word. Most of the people Jesus healed were those who had faith in Him (the Word), very few people were healed because they never believed, the majority were healed because first they heard and second they believed the Word that was being preached.

We live in a society were faith seems to be old fashion or no longer needed so to speak. The great men and women of God today started as Faith people in their early walk with God. Smith Wigglesworth who was a great Apostle of faith, one who was used mightily by God to raise about 22 people from the dead and about 9 of those were medically documented, he dreaded the day when medical science would progress, his main concern was that people would trust in doctors more than God. There is nothing wrong with Doctors, without them many Christians would be in heaven today, but we have come to be so dependant on Doctors/Medication that even the simple headache would cause us to take an aspirin or for some even visit the Doctor. We have to wake up to the fact that faith is part of our nature and without it we have no right calling ourselves Christians.

Faith is the main link between you and Gods promises and Faith is what truly pleases God. It's time to go back to the basics, confession of the Word, praying the Word and believing the Word, these are the basics that most Christian grow out of, they start in faith and end in unbelief. Living by faith is an up hill but its not for the lazy nor for the faint hearted, its for those who are willing to fight to stay believing in Gods Word as the final say in their lives. Luke 18:8 "I say to you that He will avenge them speedily. Yet when the Son of Man comes, shall He find faith on the earth?" So where is your faith?

-The ABCs of Divine Protection-

Security. That one word, perhaps more than any other, sums up what the world is searching for these days. Everybody wants to feel more secure. Yet with every day that goes by, things get more dangerous. Disasters that just a few years ago would have seemed unthinkable are now very real possibilities. Nuclear arms in the hands of renegade terrorists...biological weapons that threaten whole cities with once-extinct diseases like small pox or bubonic plague...terrorist attacks striking closer to home than we ever imagined.

Is it possible to live in this crazy world with all its dangers and still feel secure?
Yes it is and Psalm 91 tells us how.

I've loved and taught on that psalm  for years. But I've never been more grateful for it than I am right now. It was definitely written for us today. If we will just believe and act on the words God spoke to us there, we will be able to live in total freedom from fear even in the worst of times. No matter what kinds of threats arise around us, we will be able to say to the Lord like David did, "What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee" (Psalm 56:3)

Although promises of God's protection are echoed many times throughout the pages of the Bible, there is no single passage that captures God's wonderful ability and desire to deliver His people in times of danger better than Psalm 91. Every single verse in this psalm is worth studying, but in this article we'll focus on the first seven verses.

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, "He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust." Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler And from the perilous pestilence. He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that files by day, Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you. (New King James Version)

Word of God for Today - Too Busy I Forgot God! & What Kind of People Are In Your Town?

pic:leadingtoexcellence

-Too Busy I Forgot God!-

In God's word in Deu 6:12 "Then beware lest thou forget the LORD, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage".

We live in a world that's busy, busy, busy, and in fact so busy that there is no room for God. Too many Christians try to fit God in their schedule when they should fit their schedule into Gods.

The pattern for most Christians is that when times are hard they spend time with God, but when times are good then they are too busy. This is the same pattern as with the Israelites in the Old Testament. They made time for God when hardship, trials or enemies came upon them, but once deliverance came they had no more time for God.

God warned Israel not to forget Him after He delivered them from 430 years of bondage and slavery to the Egyptians, but they forgot and that was the main reason why they ended back again into bondage and slavery to their enemies. It was only until they remembered their God again that deliverance came. We at times are no different, the moment things start to go well then we are too busy for God. This puts us in a place of compromise that will cause us to be immune to being sensitive to the voice of God. Anything that replaces our time or fellowship with God will eventually become a god to us replacing the true God. Those who are too busy for God will end up less successful then the people of the world, but those who have time for God will be more successful then those in the world. It's a daily walk! And if you find your self having no time for God its means God is not that important to you as your job, business, family or whatever is taking you away from Him. Don't run the risk when you come to the end of your journey on this earth that Jesus says to you "I never Knew you". Just remember if you are too busy for God its only a matter of time that the world around you will seem like its falling apart.

-What Kind of People Are In Your Town?-

pic:heli makinen

In God's word in Mat 7:1 says "Judge not, that ye be not judged".

There was once a wise old man sitting at the gate of an ancient city. A young traveler stopped before entering the city and asked the old man, "What kind of people live in this town?". The wise man answered with a question, "What kind of people were in the town you just came from?"

"Oh, they were liars and cheats and thugs and drunks, terrible people," the young traveler replied. The old man shook his head, "The people in this town are the same way."

Later another stranger paused to ask the same question, and again the wise man questioned his questioner, "What kind of people did you just leave?" The second traveler answered, "Oh, I left a fine town. The people were good and kind and honest and hardworking." The wise man smiled and said, "The people in this town are the same way."

People who are kind and forgiving toward others usually experience tolerance from others themselves; those who are harsh, censorious and critical toward others find that others exhibit much the same disposition toward them. Of course, when our Lord warned, "Judge not," He was not talking about exposing the sins of the ungodly-we must do that. Neither was He talking about withdrawing from the immoral, or restoring erring Christians, or resolving civil disputes, or "knowing a tree by its fruits." He was forbidding illegitimate judgments that stem from a self-righteous, haughty, puffed-up, hypocritical spirit (Mat 7:15; Luk 6:37-38; Rom 3:1-3). He was forbidding judgments based on inadequate information (Joh 7:21-24). He was forbidding judgments in which the person assumes the position of God, trying and sentencing brethren in regard to eternal salvation (Jos 4:11-12; Rom 14:3-4, Rom 14:10, Rom 14:13; 1Co 4:5).

Word of God for Today - When God Won't Forgive & Don't Push The Envelope

pic:speakyoheartup

-When God Won't Forgive-

In God's word in Mar 11:25-26 "And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses".

Is there a time when God won't forgive? Yes when you won't forgive your brother or sister or any other person who has done you wrong, big or small. Unforgiveness will interfere with your flow of healing and prosperity into your life. It will block the flow because when you are in unforgiveness you are under condemnation. And if your under condemnation, you have no confidence, your faith won't work. Faith works by love so if your in unforgiveness your not in love! Unforgiveness will mess up your spiritual walk with God, it will cause you to become bitter inside, and if left un-dealt with it will turn into a root of bitterness that will eat away at you for the rest of your life.

We must never forget what Jesus said in Mat 7:1-2 "Judge not, that you may not be judged. For with whatever judgement you judge, you shall be judged; and with whatever measure you measure out, it shall be measured to you again". If you don't forgive others then that's the measure God will use in not forgiving you.

So when will God not forgive? When you don't forgive, it's your choice.
Forgive and choose the blessings.

-Don't Push The Envelope-

pic:thefamily

You are living today in what you said yesterday. And tomorrow is waiting to hear what you say today. Your eternal destiny is being shaped and formed by your agreement with the Word of God that is upholding all things.

That's always been true...but now that truth is becoming more crucial than ever before. The reason is simple. We're running out of time. In years past, if we got our hearts and mouths out of line with God's Word we had some time to get ourselves straightened out before we ran into the consequences of that disagreement. God, in His grace, would just keep dealing with us until we repented and got back into a place of faith. Although God is still as gracious and merciful as He ever was, time is short. We've hit the end of the age and, frankly, many Christians are pushing the envelope. They're letting the world fill their mouths and getting their hearts out of agreement with heaven, thinking one of these days they'll change. One of these days (when circumstances get easier) they'll start confessing the Word again.

But friend, we've hit the end times. Circumstances aren't going to get easier. They're going to get harder and we're running out of days. We're about to step into that time when we are permanently stuck with the consequences of our confession!

This is not the time to ignore Jesus' words by saying things like, "I'm just so sick. I'm so worried". When you say things like that you're not agreeing with heaven, you're agreeing with torment and trouble. You're opening the door for those things to manifest in your life. Jesus specifically told us not to do that. He said, "See that your are not troubled". That wasn't just some kind of Sunday school suggestion! It was a command from the Son of the living God instructing His disciples who would live in the last days. It was Jesus Himself speaking personally and emphatically to us!..._Gloria Copeland_

Word of God for Today - All Seasons & Satan's Trap!

pic: kpmosaics

-All Seasons-

If you wait until dangers comes or something bad to happen before you call upon the name of the Lord as your deliverer, instead of walking with Him closely day-by-day, it wont work! If you want God to deliver you in the bad times, you should have fellowship with him in the good times. People don't build buildings in a typhoon or plant fields during storm. They do it in the good times so when the bad times come they are ready. I'm not saying to prepare for problems but the devil will always challenge your Faith and he will always try to take advantage of weak Christians and put the blame all on God.

God responds to Faith! Spending time with Him will develop trust and confidence. When you serve God whole heartedly it builds within you faith in Him to deliver you in times of trouble. Walk closely with him in the good times. Then, when you need Him to deliver you, without a doubt you will have that confidence within you. So spend time with the Lord in the good times, get to know Him and Psalm 91: 14-16 will become a reality in you.

Psalm 91:14-16 "Because He has set His love on Me, therefore I will deliver Him; I will set Him on high, because He has known My name. He shall call on Me, and I will answer Him; I will be with Him in trouble, I will deliver Him, and honor Him. With long life I will satisfy him, and show him My salvation".

-Satan's Trap!-

pic: fork

In the God's word in Eph 4:17-19 "This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart: Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness".

There is a strategy that the Satan uses as a trap to try take control over our lives. The Bible calls it "lasciviousness" it means to have no restraint. Don't fall for this trap against you. You need to make up your mind to obey God in the little things. For example we can spend hours watching television every day without any self restraint or having no discipline in your daily lives. Lasciviousness has been preached as being extreme immorality, but it doesn't start out that way. It begins with just a few seemingly innocent thoughts. Then those thoughts grow and grow until they begin to produce serious sin. If you have no restraints in your life it can cause your flesh to become boss over you. If there is just one area in your life where you have no restraints or self control then that's an open door for Satan to set more traps of un restraint in other areas.

Word of God for Today - Do All Things Work Together For Good? & "Lord, if it be Thy will..."

pic: jester arts

-Do All Things Work Together For Good?-

In God's word in Rom 8:28 "And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose". This is one of the most misunderstood scriptures in the Bible. Many people interpret this as God bringing sickness, disease, temptations, trials, calamities or tragedies across your path in order to work His perfect good will in your life. This is opposite to Gods nature. I know a Pastor who had his arm in a sling one time, when I asked him what happened he told me that his arm got caught between two jeepney's, then he quoted Romans 8:28 saying all things work together for good. So what he was saying was that God injured his arm to work His purpose and good in him. Well this is out of context, if you read Rom 8:26-28 "Likewise the Spirit also helps our infirmities. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And He searching the hearts knows what is the mind to the will of God. And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose". This is not saying everything that comes along is working for your good. This is saying that the all things that's working together for your good is the Spirit working in your behalf when you pray, intercede, confession of Gods Word, walking in love. Whatever opposition comes our way if we pray, walk in the love of God, intercede in the Spirit, then all of heaven is backing you up to turn your situation around and bring good out of it, but never does God do evil to bring good. God and the devil has never changed places! In Psalm 145:9 "The LORD is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works". So understand that sickness, calamities, tragedies or any form of evil does not work for your good, it's the devil who brings this on, in order to kill, steal and destroy things in your life.

-"Lord, if it be Thy will..."-

pic:elephantjournal

This is a very traditional prayer that will help you die young "Lord, if it be Thy will, heal me, or Lord if it be Thy will heal my children". If you pray this way it shows that you have NOT been reading your Bible, and you know nothing about Gods will. Praying this way opens a door for the devil to come to steel, kill and destroy, because if you pray if its Your will and something bad happens then you will believe God answered your prayer and accept it as His will. When we pray we should always use scripture to back up our prayers, for example if your sick you don't pray "Lord is it Your Will?" but rather "Lord you said in your Word in 1Peter 2:24 that I've been healed by the stripes of Jesus, so I receive my healing in Jesus name". This is praying the will of God, but when it comes for guidance, instruction or for His wisdom to be known in any giver situation then you can pray for the wisdom. In James 1:5 it says "But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and with no reproach, and it shall be given to him". God will give you wisdom and reveal His will if you ask.

You need to know that healing, salvation, prosperity, deliverance and protection is the will of God in your life, in fact these are Gods benefits to us as mentioned in the book of Psalms 103:1-4, so NEVER again say "Lord if it be Thy will" concerning these things.

If you are changing jobs or location of your house, then you ask Lord what is Your will, not Lord if it by Thy will. Faith is always established were the will of God is know, so the more of Gods Word you know the stronger your faith will become.

Word of God - Poem (The Great I Am) & Short Story (Beware Friendly Snakes)

THE GREAT I AM
_rommel_

He is my best friend, my only friend. He redeemed me from death.

He is my Jehovah Jirah the provider: He provides all my needs

He is the great physician: He heals me in my sickness

He is my real lover: He loves me and I love Him too.

He cares for me: He protects me wherever I go

He guides me out of the way of destruction. He hides me in his loving arms

He is real joy giver: He is the real peace giver.

He is the One who lives within me: He is the Great I Am.

BEWARE FRIENDLY SNAKES

There is an old tale about a peasant who, while hoeing in his field during the spring thaw, came across a snake. He raised his hoe to kill it, but the snake begged for mercy. "I am too frozen to do you any harm," it cried. The farmer, full of compassion, picked up the half-dead serpent and put it into his tunic, against his chest. As he began to work, the snake got warmer and warmer. Suddenly, the snake bit the peasant. The peasant frantically reached into his tunic and pulled out the snake, throwing it to the ground.
"Why?" asked the man, "I befriended you. I trusted you."
"True!" hissed the snake as it slithered away, "but do not blame me. You knew I was a snake when you picked me up."

Many people today take sin into their own bosoms and go about their business. Someday when these things passed away and they are faced with eternity, they will cry out against sin and accuse it. But it will be too late for some! Sin will reply, "You knew I was sin! You knew that I was but for a season. Do not blame me!"

Word of God for Today - Interest! For or Against? & Loving Like God

-Interest! For or Against?-

If you look at the Banks of today, the billions they make in profits each year, as well as the millions they spend in advertising, one would question "where do they get all that money"? Well the answer is simple, Banks make the bulk of their profits through mainly interest. Without interest the Banks today would collapse economically, so in order to stay afloat they rely on interest. The only problem is the interests Banks charge today is not interest but usury. If Banks charged the same interest rates 20 years ago as they do today, they would be breaking the law. But because of different laws that were changed to favor Banks, they can legally charge high interest and still not break the law. In reality they are still breaking the law whether its legal or not. God is against high interest because the higher the interest rates the longer a person stays in bondage. In the Word of God in Pro 22:7 says "The rich rules over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender". God is against lending money for interest for the very fact that it puts people into bondage, He called it usury. For His people God does not allow interest to be charged to one another, Exo 22:25 it says "If you lend money to one of My people who is poor beside you, you shall not be to him as a money-lender, neither shall you lay upon him interest" Deu 23:19 "You shall not lend for interest to your brother, interest of silver, interest of food, interest of anything that is loaned on interest." So God makes it clear that if we lend to a brother we should not charge them interest in any form for what ever we lent them. Christians can only charge interest to those who are outside the Church (the stranger) Deu 23:20 "You may lend on interest to a stranger, but you shall not lend on interest to your brother, so that the Lord your God may bless you in all that you set your hand to in the land where you go to possess it".

So when you buy something always buy it in cash or stay without it. It is better to stay without something temporarily than to have it straight away and be in bondage for longer than it would take to save for it. Remember interest always works against you, it is a hard task master that will hold you in captivity to make you pay for something many times more than the value of what its truly is worth.

If your are in dept now don't feel guilty, just make a quality decision that you will not borrow again. Once you've made this firm stand God will then start to turn your captivity around.

-Loving Like God-

In God's word in John 13:34-35 "A new commandment I give unto you. That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all [men] know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another". This is a very well known scripture but one of the most ignored. Jesus commanded us to love Just like He loves. The love that Jesus demonstrated was an unconditional love called Agape. This kind of love will love regardless of what wrong another had done. Jesus demonstrated a perfect example of Agape love, He loved from the 12 Disciples all the way down to the Romans soldiers who nailed Him on the Cross. And today His love is still the same. Are you walking in Agape love or conditional love, that will only love those who are good to you. The world can love like this, but that's not the kind of love that will make you victorious. Not walking in the Agape love is the biggest blessing blocker in the Church today. For most Christians they will love, but its based on feelings rather than Commandment. No one in their right mind will drink poison; but one who is in strife, unforgiveness or hatred towards another is one who is already taking poison. This is the reason why so many are sick with cancer, arthritis and so many other illnesses causing them to die young, they have chosen the crooked pathway of life. So next time someone does you wrong, love them with the Agape unconditional love and you will stay on the straight and Narrow Way; God will justify you.

Word of God for Today - Honor To HIM & Envy The Devils Poison

-Honor To HIM-

In God's word in 1Sa 2:30 "Therefore the Lord God of Israel says; I said indeed that your house and the house of your father would walk before Me forever"; But now the Lord says: "Far be it from Me; For those who honor Me I will honor, and those who despise Me shall be lightly esteemed".

To Honor means to highly regard, its giving reverence, to highly esteem. God honors those who honor Him. We need to determine in our hearts today to be loyal towards God with every word we speak, as well as our lives. God never forgets the seeds we sow loyalty. He will give them back to you in a harvest of blessings. Have you ever complained concerning what God did not do or what He was suppose to do for you? Then ask your self this question, "Have you been honoring Him the way you should?" Gods blessings are heavy on those who honor Him.

Now it doesn't stop there, we also need to honor those who are in authority. Romans 13:7 tells us to give honor to whom honor is due. When we honor those in authority whether our parents, those in government, armed forces or our boss, that in reality is showing honor to God. So stay in honor and you will stay in His blessings. And remember honor is not an option but a lifestyle.

-Envy The Devils Poison-

In God's word in Gal 5:19-20 you will find that envy is a work of the flesh. It means to be uneasy, discontent, bad feeling towards another's possessions, advantages or success.

This is a feeling that we've all had at one time or another. Many people think its not a big deal. They see it as just some harmless emotion. But they are greatly mistaken. Envy is the devils poison that he uses to turn love into hate, it will freeze up the force of Faith from working in your life, it's a blessing blocker.

Envy starts with a thought in our minds - "why does sister Mary have another new dress, I know she doesn't need it she already has four?; I'm the one who needs it" or "why did brother Bob get promoted instead of me, I was working here longer than him?" These attitudes are the breeding ground for envy and if left ignored it becomes a tool for the devils work to be done through you.

It was envy that motivated Cain to kill his brother Abel, envy was also the cause that stirred up Joseph's brothers to sell him into slavery. And it was envy that motivated the Pharisees to hand Jesus over to Pilate.

James 3:16 shows us were envy and strife, is there is confusion and every evil work.

So if ever a thought of envy comes to your mind do what 2 Cor 10:5 says and cast that (evil) thought down and stay in the walk of love. Love is the best prevention for envy because love never fails...

Word of God - Poems (A Friend & Letter From A Friend)

A FRIEND
_samphe_

A true friend is what I need
Someone to lean on
Someone to understand me
The one that I can talk to.
And willing to listen at all times.
Some friends are not perfect
They cant give what you need
But I have a friend
A perfect friend
He can give what I need
Able to do everything
And extremely perfect
He can understand me
Know what I feel deep inside
And he knows my thoughts
In times of trouble just call on Him
And he'll be there
Words are not enough to describe Him
He's my best friend, a lover and a Father
He is everything to me
A perfect friend a real joy giver
His name is Jesus.

LETTER FROM A FRIEND
_samphe_

I had to write to tell you how much I love you and care for you.
Yesterday, I saw you walking and laughing with your friends.
I hope that soon, you'd want Me to talk with you
So I painted you a sunset to close your day and whispered
A cool breeze to refresh you, I waited for you but you never called.
I just keep on loving you. As I watched you fall asleep last night
I wanted so much to touch you. I spilled moonlight onto your face
Trickling down your cheeks. As so may tears have
you didn't think of Me. I wanted so much to comfort you.
The next day I exploded a brilliant sunrise into a glorious
Morning for you. But you woke up late and rushed off.
You didn't notice My sky become cloudy And My tears were the rain.
I love you, oh if you'd only listen I really love you.
I try to say it in the quiet of the green meadows
And in the blue sky. The wind whispers my love throughout
the treetops and spills it into the vibrant colors of all the flowers
I shout it to you in the rhythm of the great waterfalls
And ample love songs for birds to sing for you
I warm you with the clothing on my sunshine
And perfume the air with nature surest scent.
My love for you is deeper than any ocean and greater than
any need in your heart. If you'd only realize how I care.
My Father sent His Love. I want you to meet Him.
He cares too. Fathers are just the same way.
So please call Me soon, no matter how long it takes
I'll wait - because I love you.

Word of God for Today - Faith and Works & Watch Your Mouth!

-Faith and Works-

In God's word in James 2:17 "Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone". When you have Faith without Works or Works without Faith then you are rowing a boat with one oar and you will only end up in circles. When rowing a boat you need both oars working together in order to get anywhere. The same is true with the Christian life, Faith on its own is dead it needs work in order to put it into motion. James 2:26 says - "For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also". So having Faith without action is the same as having a body without a spirit. So put action behind your Faith and make it produce. When we put action to our Faith we will then start to see results. Any parrot can talk Faith but true Faith is always backed up by actions.

-Watch Your Mouth!-

In God's word in Gal 6:7 "Do not be deceived, God is not mocked. For whatever a man sows that he also will reap". The problem with most Christians today is they want to reap what they have not sown. God gives us the responsibility to plant, how much to plant and the tilling of the soil. For many of us we want to reap health when we have sown sickness, we want to reap prosperity when we have sown poverty.

Our mouth is our main key to determine what we harvest in this life, what we fail to understand is that EVERYTIME we speak evil, gossip or curse another person; that is the seed that we are sowing in our field and we will reap what we have sown. Now you know why Jesus said do not curse, do not do evil against one another, forgive etc, because if you don't, all that negative seed will grow and produce fruit after its own kind in your field not the other person.

Prov 6:2 makes it very clear that we are snared and taken by our own words, so remember your words will put you over or under. They will heal you or make you sick. They will defeat you or make you a success, its our big mouth that keeps us from our inheritance in the Lord. So put a guard over your mouth and next time you're about to speak ask your self, " do I want this harvest in my field?"

Welcome to Word of God. The love of Jesus Christ for us, and our love for Him, compels us to share Him with others. God wants to have a relationship with us. This site was made to share the Word of God.
