Word of God for Today - Where Is Your Faith! & The ABCs of Divine Protection

-Where Is Your Faith!-

In God's word in Mat 9:29 says "Then He touched their eyes, saying, According to your faith let it be you". All through out the New Testament you will see a pattern in the healings of Jesus. That pattern is Jesus helping people with faith in His Word. Most of the people Jesus healed were those who had faith in Him (the Word), very few people were healed because they never believed, the majority were healed because first they heard and second they believed the Word that was being preached.

We live in a society were faith seems to be old fashion or no longer needed so to speak. The great men and women of God today started as Faith people in their early walk with God. Smith Wigglesworth who was a great Apostle of faith, one who was used mightily by God to raise about 22 people from the dead and about 9 of those were medically documented, he dreaded the day when medical science would progress, his main concern was that people would trust in doctors more than God. There is nothing wrong with Doctors, without them many Christians would be in heaven today, but we have come to be so dependant on Doctors/Medication that even the simple headache would cause us to take an aspirin or for some even visit the Doctor. We have to wake up to the fact that faith is part of our nature and without it we have no right calling ourselves Christians.

Faith is the main link between you and Gods promises and Faith is what truly pleases God. It's time to go back to the basics, confession of the Word, praying the Word and believing the Word, these are the basics that most Christian grow out of, they start in faith and end in unbelief. Living by faith is an up hill but its not for the lazy nor for the faint hearted, its for those who are willing to fight to stay believing in Gods Word as the final say in their lives. Luke 18:8 "I say to you that He will avenge them speedily. Yet when the Son of Man comes, shall He find faith on the earth?" So where is your faith?

Security. That one word, perhaps more than any other, sums up what the world is searching for these days. Everybody wants to feel more secure. Yet with every day that goes by, things get more dangerous. Disasters that just a few years ago would have seemed unthinkable are now very real possibilities. Nuclear arms in the hands of renegade terrorists...biological weapons that threaten whole cities with once-extinct diseases like small pox or bubonic plague...terrorist attacks striking closer to home than we ever imagined.

Is it possible to live in this crazy world with all its dangers and still feel secure?
Yes it is and Psalm 91 tells us how.

I've loved and taught on that psalm  for years. But I've never been more grateful for it than I am right now. It was definitely written for us today. If we will just believe and act on the words God spoke to us there, we will be able to live in total freedom from fear even in the worst of times. No matter what kinds of threats arise around us, we will be able to say to the Lord like David did, "What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee" (Psalm 56:3)

Although promises of God's protection are echoed many times throughout the pages of the Bible, there is no single passage that captures God's wonderful ability and desire to deliver His people in times of danger better than Psalm 91. Every single verse in this psalm is worth studying, but in this article we'll focus on the first seven verses.

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, "He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust." Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler And from the perilous pestilence. He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that files by day, Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you. (New King James Version)
